6-2-Way Hydraulic Solenoid Valves
6-2-way hydraulic solenoid valves are diverter valves that let one directional control valve supply two double-acting actuators in turn. The valve switches two inlet lines between two pairs of outlets: at rest the directional valve works the first actuator, and when the solenoid is energised it works the second.
This saves a complete directional valve and its piping wherever two movements never need to run at the same time, such as a clamping and a positioning cylinder, or a second function added to an existing machine. The actuator that is not selected is cut off from the supply, so it holds its position while the other one moves.
Six-port diverter valves are usually inline valves with threaded ports rather than NG6 sub-plate valves, so they are piped between the directional valve and the two actuators. Select the valve by flow and pressure rating, match the port thread to the lines, and choose the coil voltage of the control system. Check the mounting screws separately, because they differ from those of NG6 valves.
